Standard IPT rate
Versicherungssteuer: 11% on property/casualty insurance (Sachversicherungen), covering general liability and property/home cover, and also the base rate on motor insurance premiums. Motor insurance additionally carries a separate tax calculated from the vehicle's engine power, not as a percentage of the premium, so it isn't folded into this figure. Other classes carry different rates: most life/disability 4%, health 1%.
Annual vignette fee
Annual vignette (Jahresvignette) for a standard car, valid up to 14 months (1 December of the prior year through 31 January of the year after).
