World Cost Ledger

🇨🇭 Switzerland: regulated fees and costs

Every World Cost Ledger figure for Switzerland, gathered from 2 data hubs into one page. Each row below links back to the hub it’s drawn from and the source it’s cited to — this page adds nothing new, it just collects what already exists elsewhere on the site.

Standard IPT rate

Federal stamp duty on insurance premiums (Stempelabgabe): 5% of the premium for liability, fire, casco (comprehensive motor/hull) and household insurance — covering motor, property and liability under one rate. Personal insurance (life with periodic premiums, sickness, accident, disability, unemployment) is exempt; single-premium redeemable life insurance is taxed separately at a reduced 2.5%.

Annual vignette fee

Annual vignette (sticker or e-vignette, same price either way), valid 14 months: 1 December of the prior year through 31 January of the year after. No shorter-duration option exists — Switzerland sells only the one annual product.
